Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SSDT Release & Deployment Engineer with a strong background in SQL Server database development, build automation, and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing database release pipelines using SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), ensuring smooth and error-free deployment across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and automate database release and deployment activities using SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools).
• Maintain and version-control .dacpac and .bacpac files for different environments.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to plan and execute database releases.
• Create and maintain deployment scripts, stored procedures, and data migration scripts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues, including schema drift and dependency conflicts.
• Set up and optimize CI/CD pipelines for database releases using tools like Azure DevOps, TeamCity, or Jenkins.
• Ensure database changes follow best practices for performance, security, and rollback strategies.
• Maintain and monitor SQL Server environments, including release validation, backups, and post-deployment verification.
• Support environment refreshes, rollback testing, and version synchronization across Dev/UAT/Prod environments.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2 - 3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later).
• Strong experience in SSDT-based database development and deployment.
• Proficient in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with source control systems (Git, Azure Repos, TFS) and database branching strategies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database deployments (Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, etc.).
• Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting for automation is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to Agile / DevOps environment and release management processes.
• Experience with cloud-hosted SQL databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server).
• Understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Microsoft SQL Server or Azure Database certifications are a plus.

Work Location: Mumbai/Bangalore

Working Hours 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST or 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST (as per the US daylight saving schedule)
